I've got her a card which sings "I'll Love You For Ever", but no gift. After all she's not my mother and the kids are plenty old enough to take responsibility for gifting her whatever they feel is suitable. Am I being stingy? Most of my readers are women. What do you think a husband's gift contibution should be?

Oh boy, are you ever going to be in trouble...

I've always thought it a bit odd when spouses buy their other halves mother or father day cards - it should just be for the kids to do - surely.

Having said that (a tad pompously perhaps:P) we'll skate over the fact that my lovely late mum sent my first bichon a birthday card when he became a year old.

Whatever works for us, eh?

I prefer the kids to do the thinking, otherwise it's a pointless celebration isn't it?

Well it seems the kids are involved and I saw a best of the Grammys double disc, which will probably appeal to her. It should be a nice day for all.

You can never go wrong with over-gifting. After all, she is the mother of your children, without whom you would not have been so blessed.
