Go Rosy the Rivetter, my heroine!

The concept of working women having equal rights with men was important during the war, but then it seemed to disappear quickly as women were pushed out of the labour force from 1946 on.

So when did International Workers' Day start to incorporate Rosy?

Sadly I don't know that they did. It was google images that produced this when prompted by my entry, "labour". Nevertheless I wanted to illustrate the ambivalent feelings I have, no dual feelings I had for yesterday, a pagan festival and a celebration of working union. As it fell on a Saturday, it also happenned that I was not working!
