Octahedral Gold crystals attached together, specimen from California
I've just bookmarked the site where I found this photo. Wouldn't it be nice to have some jewelry made out of this as it is? With its crystalline shapes it reminds me that it come from the earth like granite, salt or crystals. I also found a photo of a slab of gold more than a foot long found in Australia. Get it? Au stralia!

The one on the left ain't so bad either.

Before they did the alterations to the precious gems and metals gallery at the ROM, they had a similar piece of gold slab on display; never failed to excite the gold lust in me. Easy enough to understand how gold fever could get hold of you and send you out into the most inhospitable terrain in an attempt to scratch a 'fortune' out of the earth.

And now we seek the same fortune getting a picture of Lindsay Lohan kissing her girl friend. I'd settle for The Outback.
